Our Tenerife Experience

Our time in Tenerife started on the 30th of January 2004. Our journey started out from Chorley in Lancashire at mid-day from Chorley railway station, the weather was quite wet and misserable, but never the less we did not have long to wait for our train. All our connections went smoothly and gladly without any delays.

Our trip was booked with First Choice's travel agents whom I am glad to say really looked after us throughout, right from our booking to throughout our holiday. We flew out with Air 2000 which also was very much on time with the flights, and meeting us at the other end with a coach to take us to our hotel.

We arrived at our destination at near on midnight so did not see much of the hotel complex,The Orlando Club Apartments, but what we did see with the reception and club area was impressive. Every where seemed so fresh and clean. As we walked from the reception we noticed a rather large swimming pool, this met with our approvals! And infact! This was only one of three pools! One lage and one small, plus a kiddies pool too.

The orlando Apartments

The Orlando Apartments, situated in Playa De Las Americas, where we stayed would be a place I could recommend if you where like us looking for a selfcatering holiday. This complex has everything for the family, and the atmposphere we found just to be totally wonderful.

Plenty of Choice of pools to splash about in, a nice poolside bar and outdoor resteraunt with plenty to choose from. A supermarket, and a large bar with caberet for those evenings, and they put on entertainment to suit everyone, right from the very young to the older person.

Staff here where all very friendly and approachable, making the Orlando Apartments somewhere I would go back to if the opertunity came my way.

  The Orlando Appartments and Pool
Here's a photo of the Orlado Apartments and Pool, taken early morning, not long after we awoke from our sleep. This was taken on the first morning at the Hotel

Adeje harbour, only 10 minutes walk from our hotel provided us with somewhere spectacular for scenary. There was always some actvity going off down here.

By the harbour we found lots of shops and resteraunts with plenty of choice, and quite a few English & Scottish resteraunts was spotted here too! In fact my friend Pam jokingly said to me Are you sure we are in Tenerife and not England with the amount of English food outlets!

Besides the sops and resteraunts there was several outlets too for booking excursions to enable you to explore the Island further. These proved to be really reasonable.

Also there was several opertunities to book boat tours too, We went out to see the dolphins and Whales with the Freebird tour company on one of the days. Though this was not our only trip with Freebird durring our stay in Tenerife. We also booked to do the Jeep Safari with Freebird too.

Both trips was really successful. And the best thing with Freebird is that quite often you will get a meal thrown in with the price of the trip too.
Well worth doing.

Myself in the Kitchen of our Apartment

This one was taken by my friend Pam. I thought I would share this one as it is one of the photos taken inside our apartment, this gives you an idea to the cleanliness of our room.

Our apartment was typical of the cleanliness of the whole complex. The staff really worked hard to keep up the standard too! In fact it is one of the nicest places I have ever had the privelage to stay, no matter where I have travelled!

Making Paella

Here we have one of the Chefs demonstrating the making of one of the local dishes! Paella! And it smelled good whilst it was cooking too! The best thing was after it had been cooked we could all sample the delights too.

Food in general in the coplex was very cheap to buy, but still a good quality. Although food throughout Play De Las Americas was very reasonable.
